Google Analytics keeps getting better and better and just recently they’ve updated the dashboard interface to show more website data upfront, with bigger clearer graphics and easier tools to export the data. The old one is on the left and the new one is on the right.

The new version has been redesigned for clarity, greater visibility of important metrics, and ease of use. Here are just a few of the features you’ll notice:
- Email and export reports: Schedule or send ad-hoc personalized report emails and export reports in PDF format.
- Custom Dashboard: No more digging through reports. Put all the information you need on a custom dashboard that you can email to others.
- Trend and Over-time Graph: Compare time periods and select date ranges without losing sight of long term trends.
- Contextual help tips: Context sensitive Help and Conversion
Google Analytics (GA) is a free service which we provide for our website clients. It’s an online service that helps you learn more about where your visitors come from and how they interact with your site. You can read our past posts on our experience with GA here and here and you can also visit our website for more info.
So if you have a website and you’re based here in PNG gives us a hoi and we can help you get GA installed on your website absolutely free. Some companies that we have installed GA for are Post PNG and PNG Tourism Authority.
As an example…and I always love using the PNG Surfing Association, the reason being that it continues to be one of our most active websites and not just because of the hits it gets, but because of the way people are finding the site. As you’ll see below from the screen shots from April 1st to today, 58.73% of the hits have been coming from Search Engines, which to us means that we are using the right words in our web page content to match the words that people are using to find us in search engines such as Google where 557 visits came from. This is just one example of many of how useful GA can be in understanding how people interact with your websites.
