WIPO General Assembly
The WIPO General Assembly will hold its 38th session from September 22, 2009 to October 1, 2009 at WIPO Headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland. Documents WO/GA/38/9 on Matters Concerning the Intergovernmental Committee on Intellectual Property and Genetic Resources, Traditional Knowledge and Folklore and WO/GA/38/17 Elements for the New Mandate – Proposal by the European Community and its Member States are now available.
Alternative Dispute Resolution
The July 2009 issue of the WIPO Magazine includes an article on Art and Cultural Dispute Resolution.
Also, an article on Update on Alternative Dispute Resolution in the Art and Cultural Heritage Sector is published in the September e-bulletin of the International Bar Association Art and Cultural Institutions and Heritage Law Committee.
Omani Crafts … A Documentary Study is available on our IP and Handicrafts webpage. This publication, in Arabic, was published by the Public Authority for Crafts Industries, Sultanate of Oman, in March 2009.

Past and Upcoming Events and Activities
The Peruvian Society for Environmental Law, the National Commission against Biopiracy, the Initiative for the Prevention of Biopiracy and WIPO co-organized an International Workshop on the Implementation of Disclosure Requirements related to Genetic Resources and Traditional Knowledge, held in Lima, Peru, on August 13 and 14, 2009.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Paraguay and WIPO co-organized a National Seminar on Intellectual Property, Genetic Resources, Traditional Knowledge and Folklore in Asunción, Paraguay on August 17 and 18, 2009.
WIPO Indigenous Fellow Eliamani Laltaika participated in the International Congress of the Commission on Legal Pluralism (IUAES), held in Zurich, Switzerland from August 31 to September 3, 2009.
WIPO will participate in the 40th IASA 2009 Annual Conference: Towards a new kind of Archive? The Digital Philosophy in Audiovisual Archives to be held in Athens, Greece, from September 20 to 25, 2009.
