Hidden Japan Exhibition – National Museum & Art Gallery

Update 02/03/09

So decided to go check out the Japanese exhibition at our National Museum & Art Gallery at Waigani. The advert above in the newspapers did no justice to the photography on exhibition. Unfortunately taking pictures is not allowed in the Art Gallery so I couldn’t take pictures of the photography, but some wonderful examples of Japan’s traditional architecture and general landscape in black and white.

The photography was the artwork of an award winning Japanese by the name of Kijuro Yahagi.

Add that on to a very quiet gallery and I found it a quite calming experience. Hmmm a pity we don’t see enough art on display like this.
