SingSing USA

For those of you in the US or know of wantoks out that way. David Bridie, George Telek, Richard Mogu and others from SingSing will be touring there in May. You can see a short slide show of the sing sing concerts here.

Experience the musical traditions of the indigenous peoples of Australia, Papua New Guinea, and West Papua. Using song, dance, and video projections, a ten member troupe of dancers and musicians tells the stories of Oceania both long ago and today. I attended the concert in Auckland NZ early this year, it was amazing the mixture of indigenous musicians and instruments, I mean at one point you had George Telek singing the lead with two Maori women providing the back up and then at one stage you had the didgeridoo and garamut complementing each other producing some unique sounds.
    To top it all off it was a surreal feeling to hear one of PNG pioneer musician and legend G Telek singing in a far away foreign country to a foreign audience who just loved every minute of it.

    For you wantoks in the USA I highly recommend you go see their concerts!

    One suggestion I would like to make to is to allow fans or audience’s to be able to post pictures and comments on its website, am sure they will get some interesting pictures and comments from the audience.
