Kiwi’s Against Seabed Mining – Do We Care in PNG?

Nautilus is steaming ahead with their plans to be the world’s first seafloor mining company with its signing of a deal to sell more than 3 million tonnes of ore from its mine site in Papua New Guinea to China’s, Tongling Nonferrous Metals Group. What are we doing about this? Do we really care what happens, after all we’ve already seen with mining on land?

Looks like the Kiwi’s have the right idea.

So potentially how much damage can Nautilus do if it is all under water, well have a look at the images below at the scale they are planning to go.
