A settlement up in flames

Near the newly paved basketball and netball courts at the Erima park a small settlement nestled among the trees has finally been packed up.

I watched the thick black smoke rising into the air as the last reminants of the cleared area were being torched. I’m glad the area’s being cleared, it would make a nice picnic area as an extention to the recreational area.

But I wonder where these people will go? Why is it so hard for the National Housing Commission to turn their property assests into a sustainble property portfolio?
