Speaking at a recent rally for West Papuan freedom, PNG’s only vocal member of Parliament against the occupation of Indonesia in West Papua had this to say:

“We wont be silent anymore
We wont be blind anymore
We wont be intimidated anymore
Our people must be set free, that’s what we want

We must tell the Indonesians that they cannot imprison all of us and they cannot shut all of us down.

By raising the flag today we are telling the Indonesians that you cannot pull the flag down and you cannot suppress us and you won’t stop the will of our people.

The Morning Star flag deserves to be raised in our entire length and breadth of our ancestral land.

I tell you its happening in other parts of the world, and it will become a worldwide movement that cannot be stopped by Indonesian intimidation.”
